Fundementals of Practical Brewing course

This five day course will cover the practical and technical aspects of brewing and is designed for current brewers to enhance their skills and knowledge and those looking at entering the trade. This could include people contemplating opening a micro brewery, new industry entrants, trade suppliers and advanced home brewers.

The course will cover General Aspects, Raw Materials, Wort Production, Fermentation, Maturation, Packaging, Quality Control and Process Improvement. The course will be held by Institute of Brewing and Distilling Diploma Master Brewer, Dr Simon Brooke-Taylor at Potters Brewery centrally located in The Hunter Valley, NSW.

The lecture theatre is located next the brewery, allowing the program to be a combination of lectures and practical brewing on Potter’s 6HL brew house. The course will also incorporate visits to other local breweries in the area.
